MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WFXR) – A school shooting that took place last week in Maryland is getting some added attention regarding how the students at the school handled the incident as it was happening.

The shooting took place at Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland on Friday afternoon.

A report on the shooting indicates that instead of calling the police, students took to Twitter to talk about what was happening.

Officials say that they are frustrated, adding that students were in the bathroom tweeting about what was going on.

Investigators, the suspect assembled his so-called “ghost gun” with a friend after a fight with the victim.

The suspect has been identified as 17-year-old Steven Alston Jr., who was taken into custody about two hours after the shooting and is being charged as an adult.

The victim, a 15-year-old male student, is said to still be recovering in the hospital.
