Police search for ‘armed and dangerous’ occupants of vehicle involved in Saturday night shooting in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Danville are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday night and is asking for the public’s help.

The Danville Police Department says the shooting took place just before midnight on Dec. 4, where two teenagers reported being shot in the 2900 block of West Main Street.

Police say a 19-year-old man was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex while an 18-year-old male was found on the lot of a nearby store that was closed.

Police say the victim’s stories were unclear regarding the timing of the shooting as well as the relationship between the two victims. However, police are trying to piece together exactly where the shooting took place and whether or not the shootings are related.

But a preliminary investigation shows that police have confirmed that each individual was struck in an ongoing incident that began in a home and led to the nearby intersection of West Main Street and Old Mayfield Road.

The 18-year-old victim was released after being treated for a minor wound. However, the 19-year-old victim is still recovering and is listed in stable conditon.

If you see the vehicle or its occupants, you are asked to not approach them as they are considered to be armed and dangerous.
