MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that happened in Martinsville Thanksgiving night, leaving one woman injured.
The Martinsville Police Department says a call came in about a shooting at a home in the 1600 block of Spruce Street Ext. at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 25.
Before officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly saw a vehicle leaving the area, possibly being driven by the victim of the shooting.
Police say they found the vehicle and identified the driver and victim, who had a gunshot wound to her arm. She was escorted to the hospital, treated, and transferred to another medical facility for additional treatment.
Meanwhile, investigators responded to the incident and processed the scene for evidence, according to the department.
Then, at approximately 11:21 p.m. on Sunday, authorities say the Henry County Sheriff’s Office found 35-year-old Quinton Lamar Brandon in the 400 block of Tommy Carter Road in Axton.
Officials say Brandon was taken to the Martinsville Police Department and charged with the following offenses:
- Aggravated malicious wounding
- Use of a firearm committing a felony
- Discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling
- Grand larceny
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Discharging a firearm in the City of Martinsville
- Domestic assault
Brandon is reportedly being held at the Martinsville City Jail without bond.
