CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A man who was wanted in both Campbell County and Rockbridge County is now behind bars for sexual offenses, according to authorities.

On Thursday, April 28, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office says its the Criminal Investigations Division started to investigate a sexual assault against several minors.

After gathering evidence for this detailed investigation, authorities say they arrested 34-year-old Niles Lee Anthony Jr. and charged him with forcible sodomy and rape.

According to officials, Anthony was served on the Campbell County warrants, as well as outstanding warrants from Rockbridge County.

However, more charges are reportedly pending in connection with this ongoing investigation.

As of this writing, Anthony is being held without bond, the sheriff’s office says.

Appomattox Circuit Court records say that Anthony was convicted in December 2009 for a January 2008 rape charge involving a child under the age of 13. Then, in March 2010, he was sentenced to 50 years in prison with 42 of those years suspended — for a total of eight years in prison followed by 99 years under supervised probation.
