UPDATE 2:45 p.m. (10/9/21): The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the stolen mobile home has been recovered and that a “person of interest” is in custody on an unrelated charge.
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Authorities in both Harrisonburg and Campbell County are looking for the person who drove off with a mobile home Sunday morning.
The Harrisonburg Police Department says that the person connected with this robbery is driving a white, four-door, Dodge Ram 3500 or 4500, flat-bed truck with amber running lights above the cab.
At approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, police say the driver took a 14 foot by 60 foot mobile home from Clayton Homes in the 3800 block of South Main Street in Harrisonburg. According to police, the person connected a truck to the modular home, which was equipped for transport, and drove off.
According to the department, the mobile home has clay-colored vinyl siding with white trim and black shingles.
The truck was reportedly last seen at the intersection of Route 501 and Long Island Road in Campbell County between 9 and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
According to police, the driver tried to turn from Route 501 onto Long Island Road, but then decided to back up and continue south on Route 501.
