Virginia could see an end to convenience store slot machines

Virginia News

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – The future of those slot machine-style “skills games” you see in convenience stores may come to an end soon.

House Bill 881 and Senate Bill 908 are both slated to be voted on in Virginia’s General Assembly which would include skills games in the definition of illegal gambling.

Under each bill, a skill game is an electronic machine that requires money, a ticket or token to operate and will pay out cash, gift cards or credits for merchandise.

There are exceptions for “Family Entertainment Centers” that have arcade or other games that may fall under this category.
