Chemotherapy drug recalled


(WFXR) — A chemotherapy drug has been voluntarily recalled by its manufacturer due to potential glass particles in vials.

Two batches of Fluorouracil Injection, USP were recalled by Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC.

The drug is administered intravenously during chemotherapy.

Fresenius Kabi has not received any official complaints or reports related to the recall, but five sample vials were found to have glass in this during inspection.

The below drug products have been recalled:

  • NDC Number 63323-117-69, Lot Number 6120341
  • NDC Number 63323-117-61, Lot Number 6120420

Distributors are asked to notify customers and direct them to quarantine. Any impacted vials should be returned to Fresenius Kabi.
