BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – WFXR News’ Ford Carson is learning more about the next steps for Botetourt County leaders who are trying to keep Ballast Point from closing its Tasting Room and Restaurant.
Botetourt County’s Board of Supervisors are holding a meeting Thursday night at Virginia Tech Carilion. Vice Chariman Scott Horn says the decision, as he understands it, is a corporate one, not a financial one which means this is the result of a marketing study by the company and does not have to do with the profitability of Ballast Point.
Horns says he could not speak to what the decision means in terms of dollars but says meals taxes, at the least, would be affected.
He also adds the Board has not yet gotten to the point of offering additional economic incentives but is hoping to show constellation brands what the kitchen and tasting room really means to the community.
