BOCO BBQ & Country Music Fest celebrates sixth year

Hundreds coming out to Botetourt Saturday to Jeter Farm for the sixth-annual BOCO BBQ & Country Music Fest.

Everyone there got to enjoy four acts of live music, family-friendly activities, and tons of good food, especially the day’s special.

“We have brisket, corn-on-the-cob, pulled pork barbecue, sausage with jalapeno and cheddar in it, and regular sausage.”

Brady McDonald – Owner, Brady’s Barbecue

“Yeah, this is actually the first time we’ve been here – it’s really fun! We brought our kids, so it’s nice to be able to eat, listen to some music, and it’s nice that it’s a little cooler out.”

Karrie Holland – Attending Event

“Honestly, the view is just amazing. I love listening to music, I love hearing the great bands on stage, and eating the barbecue. But being surrounded by corn fields 10 minutes from downtown roanoke is a crazy thing. It’s awesome.”

J.D. Sutphin – President, Big Lick Entertainment

Proceeds from the benefit the Council of Community Services.
