Board of Supervisors issue Drought Disaster in Pittsylvania County

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Members of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors declared a Drought Disaster for the county on Tuesday night.

This declaration was issued to request the Governor’s Office to declare an official drought disaster in the county.

While no payments or federal subsidies will be available as a result, the declaration would trigger some low-interest loans from the Farm Service Agency to be issued to those directly affected by the ongoing drought conditions.
