BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia Tech Recreational Sports supports active lifestyles by hosting this weekend’s Wonder Woman 5K, but accommodating hundreds of walkers and runners may inconvenience some drivers in the area.

The Wonder Woman 5K starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17. The runners will mostly stick to the VT cross country course, but traffic on certain roads will still be directed by police officers from VT and Blacksburg.

Between noon to 12:30 p.m., Smithfield Road at Duckpond Drive will be closed to vehicles so runners can line up at the starting line. Police will also hold off cars at the Plantation Road intersection until the road is clear of runners.
