Two individuals test positive for COVID-19 at Elon Elementary School in Amherst County

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Officials with Amherst County Schools have confirmed two individuals at Elon Elementary School have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the district, Elon Elementary School will remain open at this time.

Amherst County Public Schools’ protocol states that anyone identified as having been potentially exposed will be contacted by the Central Virginia Health Department and/or Amherst County Public Schools.

Anyone who has been contacted is asked to quarantine at home and monitor for symptoms of cough, shortness of breath, a temperature higher than 100.4 and practice social distancing.
