LYNCHBURG, VA. (WFXR) — Students are back at the University of Lynchburg and many are looking forward to a more normal school year.
Monday, Aug. 2 was the first of four move-in days for freshmen.
Move-in coordinator Steve Bradney told WFXR News that they usually have about 500 freshmen in the dorms, but this year, they only have 400.
The university saw about 190 new students move in on Monday with the help of student volunteers.
“I think students are just excited to get back to what college is supposed to be and that’s being in the classroom, face to face with instructors, having outside activities on campus to participate in,” said Bradney. “A lot of those things were not available to them last year.”
Each residential student will move in within a two-hour window between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Students are required to be vaccinated before returning to campus.
