ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke County School Board has approved the refund of annual laptop insurance, paid for by parents.
The refunds total $50 per laptop insurance paid or $25 for reduced laptop insurance paid.
Due to the large number of refunds to be processed, the Roanoke County Public Schools finance department will assist the schools to issue refunds to parents.
“There are over 10,000 refunds to process, which will take considerable time. We plan to work through each of our 26 schools one at a time and will send notices to parents as soon as refunds for each school are processed.”Susan Peterson, Director of Finance for Roanoke County Public Schools
Payments received by credit card will be refunded back to the card used at purchase. Payment received by cash or check will be refunded by check.
The district will send a message to parents when refunds for their school have been processed so parents can be aware that the refund is on the way.
Additionally, the school system has created a refund status page on the Roanoke County Public Schools’ finance department website so parents have another option to monitor the status of their refund. A link to that page can be found by clicking here.
