Green Valley Elementary School employee in Roanoke County tests positive for COVID-19

Note: Roanoke County Public Schools has since clarified to WFXR News that all schools are cleaned weekly rather than daily.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – An employee at Green Valley Elementary School in Roanoke County has tested positive for COVID-19.

The announcement was made in a letter sent home to parents Wednesday, Aug. 26.

According to Roanoke County Public Schools Schools, the employee never had any interactions with students attending the school.

District representatives say they are following all recommendations provided by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and they add that all schools are deep-cleaned weekly.
