(WFXR) — As inflation continues to rise, some parents are feeling stressed about back-to-school shopping. However, there are some easy ways you can save money.
According to the National Retail Federation, families plan to spend an average of $864 on school items, approximately $15 more than last year, saying that “school spending has increased dramatically since the onset of the pandemic, as families adjusted to changes from virtual and hybrid learning.”
Fortunately, you can score some big savings on back-to-school clothes at Goodwill, which has discounted rates for all children’s clothes, from shirts to name-brand jeans.
WFXR News’ Hazelmarie Anderson worked with Chelsea Moran with Goodwill Industries of the Valleys, who shared some great styles for children of all ages heading back to school.
You can find more than just clothes at Goodwill, though. You can stumble upon sporting equipment, lunch boxes, and more!
When it comes to Goodwill, both donations and purchases will benefit the career training fund, as well as create job opportunities in the community.
