CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Almost all public school students will be heading back to the classroom in Carroll County five days a week by the middle of March, according to an announcement from the school district on Wednesday morning.
According to Carroll County Public Schools, all students — except for Cavaliers Connected students — will return to in-person learning five days a week starting the week of March 15.
However, on the following four Fridays in April and May, the school district says students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. and instructional personnel will be dismissed 30 minutes later:
- April 9
- April 23
- May 7
- May 21
School officials say these early dismissals will allow time for enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of the building, as well as extra release time for teachers to make up for lengthening teacher workdays.
