Angels of Assisi welcomes dozens of dogs, cats from hurricane evacuation areas

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – In a Facebook post, Angels of Assisi has announced it will be receiving 47 dogs and 30 cats from Lenoir County SPCA in North Carolina.

Lenoir County is located between Fayetteville and Greenville in eastern North Carolina. It’s expected to take a significant hit from Hurricane Dorian.

Angels of Assisi is setting up crates and blankets as well as toys in anticipation of the animals’ arrival.

They are asking for donations of dog/cat food, blankets, crates and toys which can be dropped off at Angels of Assisi at 415 Campbell Avenue SW in Roanoke.
