All charges dropped against Roanoke murder suspect


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — According to court documents, all charges were dropped against Marcus Clark Jr. Monday.

Clark faced a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of 24-year-old Rashard Jessup.

According to police, Jessup was found in his home with a gunshot wound on August 16, 2018. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The shooting happened in northwest Roanoke last year when police say Clark was only 18 years old.

Police said that Clark was arrested in Richmond by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitives Task Force.

The commonwealth dropped all charges.
