Afternoon storms produce damage in parts of NRV

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Afternoon storms along the VA/NC border have produced wind damage.

According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, the following reports of wind damage have been submitted:

  • 3:23 p.m. – CARROLL COUNTY – a tree is down on Dugspur Road in Laurel Fork.
  • 3:25 p.m. – FLOYD COUNTY – a tree is down on Shelor Road three miles WNW of Meadows of Dan.
  • 3:29 p.m. – CARROLL COUNTY – a tree is down blocking the road around Maple Shade Road & Tory Creek Road two miles ENE of Laurel Fork.
  • 3:45 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – a tree is blocking Route 601 north one mile SSE of Meadows of Dan.
  • 4:02 p.m. – CARROLL COUNTY – a few trees are down along Home Place Road two mils SE of Ararat.
  • 4:05 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – a tree is down on a car on Claudville Highway/Route 103 four miles southeast of Ararat – no injuries.
  • 4:07 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – multiple trees down along Hatchers Chapel Road four miles SE of Ararat.
  • 4:10 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – a tree is down on a car near the intersection of Hatchers Chapel Road and Red Bank School Road six miles ESE of Ararat.
  • 4:12 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – a tree is down near Hardees one mile east of Stuart.
  • 4:20 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – a tree is down on South Mayo Road four miles SSW of Critz.
  • 4:22 p.m. – PATRICK COUNTY – a tree is down along Tatum Lane three miles S of Critz.
