Accused Lynchburg thief arrested, facing multiple crimes

The Lynchburg Police Department made an arrest in a theft investigation from June 12, 2019.

Police had released a photo of a person wanted for stealing from the Marathon Gas (Quick-E Food Store) located at 2209 Wards Road in Lynchburg.

According to investigators, employees at other Marathon Gas stores in Lynchburg identified the involved vehicle, which officers traced back to 32-year old Lynchburg resident Terry Antonio Jones. Jones was arrested on June 21, 2019, after a chase.

As a result of the theft and subsequent chase, Jones is charged with grand larceny, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, and false identification to law enforcement.

Investigators said he also has two outstanding capiases from Henrico County.

Terry Jones is being held at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center without bond.

The Lynchburg Police Department thanked the community and Marathon Gas employees for their assistance in identifying him.
