Angels of Assisi is caring for a kitten that was rescued by two good Samaritans.
The cat was taken to the Community Pet Clinic for help.
According to Angels of Assisi, Veterinarians examined him and found him not only to be dehydrated and covered in fleas, but his back right leg was hanging on by a small piece of skin.
“Upon further examination, we found the leg to be completely separated from the body, exposing the femur bone,” the Facebook post said.
Staff bandaged up the exposed bone and started the male cat on pain medication.
“Unfortunately, the remaining part of the leg will need to be amputated to remove any additional dead tissue.”
The kitten has been named Captain Jack. He is slowly eating and drinking.
Angels of Assisi said that any donations to the Biscuit Fund would be greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of Captain Jack’s medical bills.
The fund helps animals that have been abused or neglected and helps provide them with the best medical care and a safe haven for rehabilitation. You can donate here.
