Police continue to investigate the death of a man who was struck by a vehicle on Oct. 4.

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal car crash in rural Buchanan County Thursday morning.

According to Virginia State Police Public Relations Director Corrine Geller, a 1997 Jeep Cherokee was traveling west on Hurricane Creek Road/Route 600 when it ran off the right side of the road, hit a tree, and overturned around the 2200 block of Hurricane Creed Road at 3:45 a.m. Thursday.

Billy W. Crabtree, 48, of Abingdon was partially ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The car crash remains under investigation.
