7th annual Cheeseburger in Parrot-dise to benefit low-income seniors


BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Warm Hearth Foundation and Warm Hearth Village is teaming up with local partners to bring back the Cheeseburger in Parrot-dise event on August 16 at The Village Center in Blacksburg.

This is the Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year, raising more than $25,000 for seniors.

Guests will enjoy live music with the PanJammers and taste delicious gourmet burger creations from local restaurants searching for the title of Cheeseburger Throw-Down Champ. This year, a Tiki Lounge with contests, prizes and entertainment for all ages will take place, as well as a “Walk the Plank” pirate costume contest. Kids can also enjoy special activities.

The August 16th event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and helps seniors in the area in need of housing, health care and basic necessities at Warm Hearth Village. Tickets can be purchased by calling 540-443-3406 or at http://www.retire.org.
