DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) Danville Police need your help locating 39-year-old Lindsey A. Wilson of Yanceyville, NC.

Wilson is wanted in the stabbing of a 72-year-old Martinsville man.

On July 4, Danville Police were called to SOVAH emergency room around 12:30 AM. When they arrived, they learned a man was dropped off with blunt force trauma and lacerations to the head and neck.

The victim was later transported to Duke. He is listed in serious condition.

Police located the vehicle used to drop the man off, in the 800 block of Betts St., in Danville.

The crime likely took place at the same address, police say.

Police say the victim and suspect were likely known to each other.

“This neighborhood is a pretty calm neighborhood. So imagining something that close to home, it’s kind of shocking,” said Sidonia Walker, who was staying at a house nearby. “It’s kind of devastating because you just never know what’s going to happen.”

Members of the church across the street from where the crime took place also say the neighborhood is usually quiet.

“It’s usually peaceful up this end of Betts Street,” said Jean Stephens, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. “I don’t think people should go around hurting other individuals. I don’t believe that. But it happens,” said Stephens.

She added that she will be praying for the victim to recover from his injuries.

Danville Police are asking you to contact them if you know the whereabouts of Lindsey A. Wilson. They can be reached at 434-799-6508 or contact Crime Stoppers at 434-793-000.
