UPDATE: 11/4 LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department has confirmed that a suspect was not located during a possible barricade situation on Friday afternoon.

Details about the incident remain limited; but on Nov. 3, there was a police presence at a home in the 2nd and Polk Street area. Lt. Gregory Coleman tells WFXR News that a man was possibly barricaded in his home. Police say the man was allegedly wanted in an assault and battery incident.

However, after staying on the scene, Lt. Coleman said officers were not able to locate him. The man’s name has not been released at this time.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — There is currently a police presence by the Lynchburg Police Department at the intersection of 2nd and Polk Streets in Lynchburg.

According to Lt. Gregory Coleman, police are only aware of a man possibly barricaded in his home. They say he is a suspect in an alleged assault and battery incident and police are currently trying to make contact with him.
