LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — After a deadly stabbing took place in the Hill City on Nov. 10, one local organization is continuing is step to the forefront to make sure community members feel safe.
The Lynchburg Peacemakers are extending a hand to any woman in the community who has protective orders against someone and is still afraid. On Sunday, Nov. 12, the organization announced that they would be willing to install cameras in the homes of women for added protection, at no cost.
“The Peacemakers are dedicated to doing all that we can in reducing/stopping this violent crime,” said the Lynchburg Peacemakers. “The Community, by working together on all fronts we can make our community safer for our women, children & elderly.”
Organizers are encouraging any women in the Lynchburg community who are in fear, to contact them for a free camera installation. Those who are looking to stay anonymous and for assistance can call the Peacemakers Domestic Violence Hotline at 434-291-4625, or message them them on Facebook.
