GILES COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — In a joint investigation with the Virginia State Police, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people during a search warrant on April 18th.

According to deputies, on Tuesday morning, officers executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Cascade Drive in the town of Pembroke. While searching the home, officers allegedly seized several narcotics, guns, explosives, and stolen property.

As a result, 60-year-old Robert Leon King, of Pembroke and 46-year-old Tanya Vaught Martin were arrested and face several charges.

King was charged with Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.

Authorities say Martin was arrested on a warrant issued by a judge originating in Giles County for possession of narcotics. She is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond.

The Giles County Sheriff’s Office stated the incident remains under investigation, and further charges are still pending.
