ROANOKE. Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department says it is investigating a shooting that occurred on Tazewell Avenue SE on April 21st.

According to the police, around 12:20 a.m. officers were notified of shots fired on the 700 block of Tazewell Avenue SE. On the scene officers allegedly found damage to several vehicles and evidence of a shooting.

While on the scene, officers were notified that an unidentified man had arrived at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators say they arrived at the hospital to speak with the male. There are no suspects in custody and no arrests have been made at this time.

The Roanoke Police Department asks that anyone with information about this incident call 540-344-8500. Texts can also be sent to 274637, with the message beginning with “RoanokePD.” Officers remind the community that texts and calls can remain anonymous.
