ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia State Police have reported a Roanoke man previously wanted for Aggravated Malicious Wounding is now facing drug and gun-related charges after an incident that occurred on March 10th.
25-year-old, Ryan Tyrell Guerrant of Roanoke was deemed wanted after an incident back in June of 2022 that left one man shot on Colonial Ave SW in Roanoke.
On March 10th, officers found and attempted to apprehend Guerrant while in his vehicle. But as they approached, he intentionally put his vehicle in reverse and struck a Roanoke City patrol vehicle to avoid arrest. Guerrant then attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody by the officers.
During a search of Guerrant’s vehicle, a handgun, approximately 51 grams of fentanyl, and 187 grams of methamphetamine were allegedly seized.
Guerrant is currently being held at the Roanoke Adult Detention Center without bond. The Commonwealth Attorney’s Office will determine if additional charges need to be filed. WFXR News will update you as more information is released.
