ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department says a man has been charged in connection to the shooting that occurred near Taco Bell on Sept. 19.
Police said around 10:25 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were called to the 1400 block of Hershberger Road NW for a person with a gunshot wound. On the scene, officers found evidence of a shooting, but no victims were found at the scene.
Officers later learned that a teenager and an adult man had arrived at the hospital. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
As the investigation continued, officers identified 26-year-old Marquest L. Hairston, from Roanoke, as the suspect.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, Hairston turned himself in to Roanoke Police. He was arrested and charged with two counts of Malicious Wounding.
Roanoke Police said additional charges against Hariston are pending.
The shooting remains under investigation.
