ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — After an extensive, long-term, multi-jurisdictional drug investigation, Virginia State Police report they allegedly seized over one million dollars worth of drugs on March 16th.
On Thursday, officers with Roanoke, Bedford, Alleghany, and Botetourt counties, and the Star City Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at the 1500 block of Riverside Terrace SE in Roanoke. During the search, they allegedly found the following:
- 10.5 kilograms of methamphetamine
- 7.1 ounces of fentanyl
- 13 grams of heroin
- 30 grams of cocaine
- 9.2 ounces of marijuana
- 57 doses of Suboxone
- 33.5 doses of prescription pills
- 20 firearms
- $6,647 in U.S. currency
Authorities estimate the total street value of the drugs to be around $1,051,367.00.
19-year old Ronnie Edward Niday of Roanoke has been arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of fentanyl, and possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I/II drug.
35-year-old Shawn Michael McCraw of Roanoke has been arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I/II drug.
23-year-old Ashley Nicole Bobbitt of Roanoke has been arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I/II drug and possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I/II drug. Niday, McCraw, and Bobbitt are currently being held without bond at the Roanoke Adult Detention Center. WFXR News will continue to update you as more information is released.
