BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says a man is facing several charges in an animal cruelty case.
A citizen reported a skinny dog with injuries was running around near the 300 block of Trents Ferry Road on May 19. Later, Carl Jackson claimed ownership of the dog, prompting police to investigate the living conditions of his animals.
Officers obtained and executed a search warrant where they found 11 more dogs living under harmful conditions.
The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office shared that the dogs were taken to a local vet for treatment and many of them are awaiting adoption at the Bedford County Animal Shelter.
