MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Martinsville Police Department (MPD) says a man has been arrested in connection to the homicide investigation of Antoine Preston.
On Sept. 30, officers responded to the 1400 block of Fayette Street, where they found Preston, dead inside a pickup truck down an embankment. During the investigation, officers learned that someone had fired gunshots into Preston’s vehicle.
According to Martinsville Police, 46-year-old Delano Tomaz Ross, of Martinsville was taken into custody on Spring Street. He was arrested on the following charges:
- 1st Degree Murder
- Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
- Shoot from a Vehicle to Endanger Persons
- Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle
- Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Violent Convicted Felon
- Reckless Handling of a Firearm
Ross is being held without bond.
