LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — A Lynchburg Jury found a man guilty of several charges after he assaulted a woman and held her hostage in his home for nearly 12 hours.

According to the Lynchburg Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, 57-year-old Donald Lee Banks was found guilty of two counts of Forcible Sodom, Abduction, and Assault and Battery

The incident occurred on Sept. 14, 2022, when Banks called his on-and-off girlfriend to meet him at his apartment. According to the attorney’s office, Banks wanted her to take property from him and to do drugs.

However, when the victim arrived at the home, Banks wanted to cuddle. When she went into the room Banks hit her, forced the woman to do sexual acts, and wouldn’t let her leave for nearly 12 hours from when she arrived.

His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 13, 2023.
