ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department has arrested a juvenile male allegedly connected to a shooting that left two injured on the evening of March 28th.

According to the police, a shooting was reported on the 2800 block of Meadows Street NW around 7:30 p.m. On the scene, officers found a vehicle that appeared to have sustained damage from gunfire. A juvenile girl was then found with a minor gunshot wound and was transported to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, officers learned that a juvenile boy was also taken to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be a minor gunshot wound. Investigators allegedly discovered the victim’s vehicle was traveling South toward Bowman Park when the alleged shooter traveling North opened fire and fled the scene.

After a joint search with the Roanoke County Police Department, the male was ultimately located at his home in Roanoke County.

He was taken into custody and charged with the following:

  • Malicious Wounding
  • Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.

The juvenile was transported to the Roanoke Valley Juvenile Detention Center.

The Roanoke Police Department says the shooting remains under investigation. WFXR News will update you with new information as it is released.
