HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A homicide investigation is underway in Henry County. The Sheriff’s Office confirms that one man was shot and killed at the Northview Gardens apartment complex on Stultz Road just before 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Sheriff Lane Perry, there is no threat to the public, however, the alleged shooter is not in custody. Perry says investigators are speaking with witnesses and confirming information on the suspect before releasing information on their identity.
Emergency responders at the scene attempted to save the victim’s life but were unsuccessful. The Sheriff’s Office currently believes that the shooting followed an argument but says they are still early in the investigation.
Deputies are expected to stay on the scene through the night to process evidence.
