UPDATE 4/25 11:15 p.m. GALAX, Va. (WFXR) — On the evening of April 25th, the Galax Police Department responded to the 100 block of Calloway Street after receiving reports of a shooting.
Around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, officers arrived on the scene, where they found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
33-year-old David L. Richardson of Galax was pronounced dead at the scene.
22-year-old Tyrus D. Miller of Galax was transported to a hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the immediate treatment of life-threatening injuries.
After investigating the incident, officials believe that the two victims exchanged gunfire. The Galax Police Department is not searching for any more suspects at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing.
