DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department says two men have been arrested in the ongoing Memorial Drive armed robbery investigation that occurred on Feb. 15th.

According to police, around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the 15th 36-year-old Calvin Franklin Hughes, Jr. and 18-year-old Arshay Trevante Haley allegedly entered the Sunrise convenience store on the 500 block of Memorial Drive armed with a machete and a gun and demanded money from the cash register.

While investigating, officers learned Haley was allegedly armed with a machete and Hughes was allegedly armed with a gun.

Hughes was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Robbery
  • Attempted malicious wounding
  • Two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Shoot a firearm in an occupied dwelling
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Reckless handling of a firearm

Haley was charged with the following:

  • Armed robbery
  • Brandishing a machete
