DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department reports a man has been arrested following an arson that occurred at Woodberry Hills Elementary School on March 25th.
According to police, around 11:47 am on Saturday, a Danville utility worker allegedly spotted 20-year-old David Avery Meyer in the woods near the school setting a stump on fire. The Danville Fire Department was called to the school to investigate the scene.
Meyer has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Burning or Destroying a Building by Fire
- Careless Damage of Property by Fire
- Trespass on Church or School Property
Meyer is currently in the Danville City Jail. WFXR News will update you as more information becomes available.
