CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Christiansburg Police are searching for the person who is responsible for shooting a cat on the night of Halloween.

Police said around 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 31, the owner of a cat noticed the pet had returned home with injuries. The family took the cat to the veterinarian where they learned the cat had been shot.

As a result of its injuries, the cat was put to sleep.

Police believe the shooting took place on or near Overland Street, but no arrests have been made at this time.
