PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Patrick County Sheriff, Dan Smith, has reported that human remains were found in a creek on March 25th near the North Carolina border.
Sheriff Smith says the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Stokes County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office, regarding a report that teenagers had found a body in the Dry Pond area of the County. The report was then passed to the Partick County Sheriff’s Office.
The Virginia State Police responded to assist with the search and using satellite mapping, the body was successfully located.
The remains were sent to the State Medical Examiners’ Office in Roanoke and positive identification is pending.
