AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is searching for a man who allegedly assaulted someone with a gun during a road rage incident on Wednesday night.
On Nov. 8, deputies responded to a road rage incident around 10:47 p.m. After interviewing the victim, authorities determined the incident began on Draft Avenue and continued onto Wayne Avenue. As their investigation continued, it was determined the assault occurred after both vehicles stopped near Schneider Park. That’s when the two drivers exited their vehicles and engaged in a verbal confrontation.
The victim told deputies that the unidentified man allegedly presented a pistol and later hit them on the side of the head. According to the ACSO, the gun was discharged during the incident.
Deputies confirmed the victim was not struck, but did suffer minor injuries from the assault.
Investigators described the suspect as a black male around six feet tall. He was driving a BMW SUV with a roof rack and running boards. The SUV was last seen leaving the area and traveling on Wayne Avneye toward Draft Avenue.
