AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office reports the execution of multiple felony warrants on March 13th has resulted in the arrest of a Nelson County man and the seizure of over 250 grams of narcotics.
According to the sheriff, around 6:10 pm Monday, members of the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, the VSP Central Virginia Drug & Gang Task Force conducted surveillance and executed search warrants at a residence on North Coolwell Rd. for Leslie Bishop of Nelson County for the following charges:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute more than 100 grams of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Schedule I, and II Cocaine
- Possession of Firearm/Ammunition by a Convicted Felon
Bishop was taken into custody upon exiting a camper. After searching the residence, deputies allegedly recovered $2,760 dollars and 265 grams of Methamphetamine.
