DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Police Department has charged a 14-year-old boy with second-degree murder after a month-long investigation into a homicide that occurred at the Woodside Village Apartments.
On May 1, Danville PD responded to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road, where they found 37-year-old Marcus Hairston shot to death, and two other individuals with non-life-threatening gunshot-related injuries.
The 14-year-old suspect was identified as a person of interest in the homicide and has been in custody on unrelated charges since May 2.
He is facing the following charges:
- second-degree murder
- two counts of malicious wounding
- three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony
- underage possession of a firearm
Danville PD is continuing to investigate the incident.
