Three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas discusses upcoming Olympics and US Gymnastics Team’s medal hopes

Living Local

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Gabby Douglas became a shining star of the women’s gymnastics team at the 2012 London Olympics when she won all-around gold at merely 16-years-old. She was the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in both the Olympic all-around and team competitions. That same year the Associated Press named Gabby Douglas Female Athlete of the Year.

Gabby’s accomplishments don’t stop there. Four years later, she earned her third U.S. team gold in Rio and has broken barriers as the first African American gymnast to become Olympic all-around champion.

In this Living Local interview, Gabby discusses how the pandemic has affected the 2021 US Olympic Gymnastics Team, offers personal health and wellness tips, and shared what’s to come.
