This Hope in Motion fundraiser aims to bring awareness to suicide prevention

Living Local

Roanoke, Va. (WFXR)– Within the United States, the tenth leading cause of death is suicide. These deaths impact families substantially but many mourn in silence. The Suicide Prevention Awareness Coalition (S.P.A.) hopes to bring awareness about suicide while envisioning a community where mental health is a priority.

The Coalition is hosting a fundraiser this Sunday, July 18 at Pervial’s Island in Lynchburg, Virginia. S.P.A Coalition Coordinator, Brittany Holts, and Chair of Fundraising for S.P.A., Christina Ingram join host Kianna Price to discuss the upcoming event and the Coalition’s mission.
