The New River Valley regional bike share upgrades to an electric-assist e-bike fleet

New River Valley, Va. (WFXR) — The New River Valley regional bike share is upgrading to an electric assist e-bike fleet. The new fleet will expand access and transportation options to Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Montgomery County, and Virginia Tech.

The New River Valley bike share program (RoamNRV) teamed up with Bolt Mobility to convert the region’s existing pedal bike system to an all-electric-assist fleet. There will be new hub locations throughout the region with an aim of providing over one hundred accessible e-bikes.

The program brings many benefits to the New River Valley, including making transportation within and between towns and the university easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

Bolt CEO, Ignacio Tzoumas details this initiative.
