Local teens collaborate with Habitat for Humanity to honor a historic figure

Roanoke, Va. (WFXR) — In a recent project, the Roanoke Valley Habitat for Humanity worked with youth groups from Salem Presbyterian Church and College Lutheran to restore the local historic McClanahan Cemetery.

The Historic McClanahan Cemetery is located on the ridge behind the Feeding America Community Solutions Center on Melrose Avenue and was obtained by Habitat-Roanoke when a residential property was donated to the non-profit – which surprisingly contained the gravesites.

In this Living Local interview, Gina Dunnavant with Habitat for Humanity as well as participating youth group member, Katelyn Crumpacker provide details about the beneficial collaborative project.
