Roanoke, Va. (WFXR) — Bradley Free Clinic started offering COVID vaccines to clinic patients in February, and worked with community partners throughout the spring to identify area residents who were seeking the vaccine and struggling to get an appointment.
To date, Bradley Free Clinic has vaccinated over 1,150 people and is now offering COVID vaccines during regular patient appointments.
Healthcare leaders say the members of the community who aren’t vaccinated have a lot of questions and may still struggle with access. Bradley Free Clinic’s medical director Dr. Thomas Kerkering provides answers to some of those questions and shares information about vaccine distribution this summer. Kerkering, an infectious disease specialist, is affiliated with multiple hospitals including Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center and has worked extensively with the local health department throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
